With movies like John Wick and Kingsman basically being love letters to the action genre and spy movie subgenre, it seems we could see more "love letter" type movies to other genres. What I was thinking was that there hasn't been a good mafia movie in a while. Would anyone here be interested?

With movies like John Wick and Kingsman basically being love letters to the action genre and spy movie subgenre, it seems we could see more "love letter" type movies to other genres. What I was thinking was that there hasn't been a good mafia movie in a while. Would anyone here be interested in seeing a mafia movie made today, that is very much like Goodfellas, a Bronx Tale, and movies like them, as a love letter to the genre? Like a real 80s style/90s style mafia movie with all of the common tropes, but doing so as more of a homage to its respective genre, making the movie great. Like how John Wick and Kingsman have all the over the top cliches of each of their respected genres, but with an extra flair. I would love to see more content based on a small town mafia setting again, similar to those movies, because those movies were always so cool to watch
