Just re-watched this yesterday and gosh is it brilliant as ever. And even though there’s only really three prominent roles, they absolutely nailed it. Fred MacMurray portraying the dark yet ultimately rather poignant journey of the enamoured fool? Barbara Stanwyck, so alluring and so venomous often within the same scene as the definitive femme fatale? Edward G. Robinson as the closest we get to a ‘hero’, the wisecracking motormouth, incredibly astute investigator who’s only blinded by his friendship. It’s quite a treat seeing three Hollywood legends giving career-best performances at the same time.
Any other huge fans of the film on here?
